How we work out your offer
The same method for every seller, so you can check our math. Here is what we look at, the share we pay, what your offer looks like, and what can change when we meet.
What we check on every card that matters
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The exact card | Set, number, version, and language. The same Pokémon can be on dozens of cards worth very different amounts. |
| Condition | Graded on the same Near Mint to Damaged scale the public price guides use. See how condition is judged. |
| Recent sales | What the same card in the same condition actually sold for, not what sellers are asking. |
| Demand | How quickly the card sells. Popular cards get a higher share. |
We start from public sold prices you can look up yourself, so nothing about the number is a secret. Our card value guide shows you how to check your best cards before you talk to anyone.
Most binders are mostly common cards, with a handful that carry the value. Finding that handful is our job, and we tell you which ones they are and why.
What we pay
For in-demand cards, we usually pay 70 to 80% of what the same card in the same condition has recently sold for.
The more valuable and in demand the card, the higher the share. Lower-value cards and bulk are counted and priced as one lot.
Your offer stays good for 3 to 5 business days, so there is no rush to decide.
You are paid in cash at the meetup, once you have looked over the cards together and agreed on a price.
Why not the full price-guide number? A guide shows what one collector paid for one card. When we buy your cards, we take on the selling: fees, shipping, the wait, and the risk that prices drop. That is true of every dealer, shop, and buyer.
What your offer looks like
| Line | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Your best cards, one by one | Each card that carries the value, its condition, and a short reason it matters, priced on its own. |
| Everything else, counted | Commons, uncommons, reverse holos, and other bulk, counted by type and priced as one lot. |
| Your choices | Take the whole offer, sell just the best cards, or keep it all. |
For anything valuable, the offer links the public sold listings it is based on.
You get the offer by text or email within 12 to 24 hours, whichever you chose. It costs nothing and you can say no.
If something looks different in person
An offer from photos assumes the cards look the same in hand. When we meet, we look the cards over together. If a card's condition or version is different from what the photos showed, we show you what we see and explain the change, and you are still free to say no.
How to compare offers
Whoever you sell to, these four habits protect you.
Get more than one offer
Offers vary from buyer to buyer. Asking around is free, and a fair buyer will not mind.
Ask how the number was reached
A good buyer can tell you, card by card, which cards carry the value and what they checked. Be wary of one quick number for a whole stack.
Compare with what you would keep
Selling online yourself can bring more for valuable cards, but eBay takes about 13% of a trading card sale, and you also pay for shipping, handle returns, and wait.
Never decide under pressure
A fair offer is still fair tomorrow. If someone pushes you to decide on the spot, walk away.

Questions about offers
How long is my offer good for?
Your offer stays good for 3 to 5 business days, so there is no rush to decide. Card prices move, so after that we may check recent sales again before we buy.
Why is an offer lower than the price guide?
A price guide shows what one collector paid for one card. A buyer who resells your cards pays marketplace fees (eBay takes about 13% of a trading card sale), ships every order, waits for each card to sell, and carries the risk that prices drop. Every dealer, shop, and buyer offers less than the guide for that reason, including us. The difference is that we show you how we got to our number.
What if a card looks different when we meet?
An offer from photos assumes the cards look the same in hand. When we meet, we look the cards over together. If the condition or version of a card is different from what the photos showed, we show you what we see, explain the change, and you are still free to say no.
Do I have to sell everything?
No. Your offer lists the cards that carry the value, each with a short reason, and everything else as one lot. You can take the whole offer, sell just the best cards, or keep it all.
How is bulk priced?
Bulk is counted, not guessed. Commons, uncommons, reverse holos, and holos are priced as one lot by how many of each you have, and any rares or holos worth more on their own are pulled out and priced one by one. You do not need to sort anything first.
Hi, I'm Nick. If any number in your offer does not make sense, ask me. I will walk you through it.
