Selling Pokémon cards: questions and answers
How offers work, where we meet, and what we buy. Looking for where to sell or who pays the most? See questions sellers ask.
How do I get an offer?
Fill out the offer form with a few photos, or text pictures to (757) 394-0583. Photos of whole binder pages are fine to start. We will ask for close-ups of anything that needs a better look.
How fast will I hear back?
Within 12 to 24 hours, by text or email, whichever you prefer.
Is the offer free? Do I have to accept it?
The offer is free and there is no obligation. If you say no, that is the end of it, and you keep your cards. You never hand over or ship cards before you have agreed to a price.
How do you decide what to offer?
We start from what the same card, in the same condition, has recently sold for. Then we factor in condition, demand, and how quickly the card tends to sell. For in-demand cards, we usually pay 70 to 80% of what the same card in the same condition has recently sold for. The more valuable and in demand the card, the higher the share. Lower-value cards and bulk are counted and priced as one lot. The whole method is on how offers work.
Do I need to sort my cards first?
No. Bring the binder or the box as it is. We go through it with you and point out the cards that carry the value.
Do you buy played or damaged cards?
Yes. Condition changes the offer, but played cards still have value, especially vintage holos. Send photos and we will tell you what we can offer.
Do you buy Japanese cards, graded slabs, and Riftbound?
Yes to all three. We buy Japanese Pokémon cards, slabs graded by PSA, CGC, Beckett (BGS), and TAG, and Riftbound cards. See what we buy for the full list.
Where do we meet?
At one of our two spots: the Norfolk Police First Patrol Division (3661 E Virginia Beach Blvd), an official exchange zone with a lobby open 24 hours, or Town Center in Virginia Beach. Nick also goes to most local card shows, so you can text ahead and ask about meeting there. For a larger collection, we can come to you. We buy across Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News, and Williamsburg. If you are a little outside that area, text us and ask. Selling safely explains how we keep meetups safe.
How do I get paid?
You are paid in cash at the meetup, once you have looked over the cards together and agreed on a price. Count it where you are before you hand anything over. You never ship cards or hand them over before you have agreed to a price.
Do you come to my house?
Yes, for bigger collections, so you are not carrying boxes across town. Tell us roughly how many cards you have when you send photos, and we will set it up. Family or a friend is welcome to be there. For smaller sales we meet at our Norfolk or Virginia Beach spot or at a card show.
Can I sell my cards if I am under 18?
Yes, with a parent or guardian. Sellers under 18 need a parent or guardian at the meetup who approves the sale. If you are a parent helping your child sell, you are welcome to fill out the offer form yourself.
Can I just find out what my cards are worth?
Yes. An offer is free, and you are under no pressure to sell. If you want to research values yourself first, start with our Pokémon card value guide.
Still have a question?
Text us. A real person answers, usually within a day.
