The short version
Yes, but only cards graded by PSA at an 8, 9, or 10, in a PSA case with the Lighthouse label, and only at participating stores. GameStop does not buy raw cards (cards not in a grading case), binders, bulk, or slabs from CGC, Beckett, or TAG.
For anything else, a local buyer, a card shop, or selling it yourself is the better fit.
Checked on GameStop's and PSA's own pages on October 4, 2026. GameStop changes this program often, so look at its graded cards page before you go. Mango Market is not affiliated with GameStop or PSA.
What Pokémon cards does GameStop buy?
GameStop takes trading cards graded by PSA at a grade of 8, 9, or 10, in a PSA case with the Lighthouse label. PSA has used that label since 2017, so an older PSA slab may be turned away. It pays in cash or in store credit, at any GameStop store that takes part in the program. GameStop Pro members get extra trade credit, though GameStop's pages show two different amounts, so ask the store.
There is also a top limit on what GameStop will pay for one card. It is listed in the FAQ on GameStop's graded cards page.
| What you have | GameStop |
|---|---|
| A raw card, not in a case | No |
| A binder, a shoebox, or bulk | No |
| A PSA slab graded 8, 9, or 10, with the Lighthouse label | Yes, at stores in the program, up to a per-card limit |
| An older PSA slab without the Lighthouse label | No |
| A PSA slab graded 7 or lower | No |
| A CGC, Beckett (BGS), or TAG slab | No |

Does GameStop buy raw or bulk Pokémon cards?
No. Cards have to be graded by PSA at an 8 or higher. GameStop does have a bulk page, but it is a form titled "Sell Bulk PSA Graded Cards": it means a big stack of slabs, not a box of loose cards.
How does GameStop decide what to pay?
A pricing model makes the offer when the store scans your slab. GameStop says the model uses market data, in part from Card Ladder, a site that tracks card sales. Each card is priced one at a time, you are paid right away if you say yes, and the offer is final. You can also get an estimate online first by typing in the PSA cert number, the number on the slab's label.
That is fast and simple. It prices only the slab in front of it, so the raw cards and bulk around it need a different buyer.
Can you get Pokémon cards graded at GameStop?
Yes. That is a separate service: GameStop is an authorized PSA dealer, and participating stores take ungraded cards to send to PSA. Read the terms first. The fees are not refunded whatever grade comes back, and cards left more than 30 days after the pickup email can become GameStop's. Our grading guide covers whether it is worth it.
Which Hampton Roads GameStop stores take part?
GameStop's graded cards page has a store finder, but it shows the same stores as its regular store list, so it does not tell you which ones take graded trade-ins. Call the store before you drive. For grading drop-offs, PSA's list of dealers who submit cards shows GameStops in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News, and Yorktown. Search it for your city, then call ahead.
When is GameStop the right place to sell?
GameStop fits when you have PSA 8 to 10 slabs, a store near you takes part, and you want cash or store credit today with no back and forth.
A local buyer fits when you have raw cards, a binder, bulk, slabs from other graders, or a mix of everything that should get one offer in one meeting. That is most collections.
Selling it yourself fits when you have one valuable card, time to list, ship, and wait, and the last bit of money matters most. Slabs sell well online because buyers can check the cert. Whatever you choose, get more than one offer. See how we work out ours.
More questions
Does GameStop take CGC, Beckett, or TAG slabs?
Not right now. GameStop's own FAQ says it is only accepting PSA graded cards, so slabs from CGC, Beckett (BGS), and TAG are turned away, whatever the grade.
Can I negotiate a GameStop trade offer?
No. GameStop says its trade offers are final. The price comes from a pricing model when the card is scanned in the store, so the number is not open to haggling. You can still say no and keep the card.
Hi, I'm Nick. Got cards GameStop will not take? Send me photos of the binder, the box, or the slabs. I will tell you which cards carry the value and make you one offer for all of it. I reply within 12 to 24 hours, and the offer stays good for 3 to 5 business days.
